Something that has become a huge trend over the last few years is skin care.

But what is everyone using? And what are the benefits of these products?

Well, as someone who has had a tense love-hate battle with her skin since the not so gentle blossom of puberty, I’ve tried nearly every skin care product in the game.

Now, at the tender age of 30, I’m here to share with you which products have passed the long-term test and are the real deal!

Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution

£15.00

This is my number one staple for everyday use.

Tea tree oil is known to have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and anti-fungal properties. Glorious! As someone that has unpredictable breakouts, eczema and acne scarring, nothing clears and calms my skin better than this simple little vial.

I use it every morning as a kind of primer before my moisturiser. Just dab a few drops on your skin, massage it in gently and then let it sit and absorb for 5 minutes. Job done.

Is it a little pricey? Perhaps – but I promise it’s worth it in the long run. And IT LASTS! Though it looks small, if used correctly this teeny vial of magic will keep you going for over a month.

Boots Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser

£2.50 (125ml)

I have tried a LOT of moisturisers over the years. Some great, some really not so much. But I have to say this one is up there for me. I use the light version as I find the thicker moisturisers a little too heavy on my skin.

Simple is a fantastic range as it serves for all skin types. This moisturiser in particular is extremely gentle. It calms my eczema and gives excellent long lasting hydration.

It’s also incredible value for money, and depending on how you use it can last a good while. The entire Simple range is excellent – it’s cruelty free, vegan and committed to fully sustainable, low carbon production.

In conclusion, if you want something cheap, cheerful, smooth and sustainable, this is your product!

Garnier SkinActive Sheet Masks

 £2.99

I am obsessed with these masks.

This incredible range of sheet masks by Garnier offers a variety of different masks depending on your particular skin care needs. My favourite one is the purple “Super Hydrating – Anti Fatigue” mask, and it really does make a difference.

I also recommend storing them in the fridge for extra effect. Other favourites include “Glow Reviving”, “Anti-aging”, and the fantastic night time mask – “Skin Barrier and Strengthening”. Boots always seems to have a 3-for-2 deal on, and I highly recommend getting involved!

I pop one of these bad boys on for 15 minutes twice a week and it keeps my skin feeling hydrated and glowing.

Plus, they give you an excuse for some concentrated me-time. Even if it is only a short burst, it’s definitely worth it!

Clinique Superdefense City Block SPF 50 Daily Energy & Face Protector

£23.00

Sun protection has become an essential part of any skin care routine, and this SPF cream by Clinique is just the thing to give you long lasting daily protection. I apply it after my moisturiser, and it makes for a really great primer as it sits really well under makeup.

It absorbs super quickly and is oil free. A little more on the pricey side, but Clinique is always good for a cheeky free gift and they always have some great offers, so in my book it’s an absolute must have!

The Body Shop Tea Tree 3-in-1, Wash, Scrub, Mask

£9.00

I LOVE this product.

It’s an absolutely outstanding exfoliator that removes even the toughest patches of makeup. Though it has quite an intense tingle, it’s not harmful to your skin at all. In fact, it leaves you revitalised and feeling fresh.

It’s a great product to battle a breakout and the perfect morning cleanse after a big night out. This product will leave you glowing and ready for the day!

It also smells beautiful and your skin will never feel smoother. For what it does it’s very well priced, and The Body Shop also offers a tea tree oil gift set where this is included! Woohoo!

These are my top tips and top products for now, but the skin care industry is ever changing with more glorious, sustainable and exciting products on the market each day!

So I encourage you to go out there and keep experimenting until you find what works for you. Because as important as finding great skin care can be, the journey to finding it can also be so much fun!

Happy pampering friends, and remember to take that very well earned me time!
